About Us

Our Mission

Our mission is to foster a culture comfortable confronting mortality, at any stage of life, that will motivate members of the community to identify unnecessary suffering in their lives, either physical, psychological or spiritual, and compete to address it.

About Compete to Live

What Truly Matters?

In a world that moves fast, it's easy to assume there’s always more time—to get healthy, to be present, to build the life we want. But time is finite. If we don’t take control now, we risk waking up one day realizing we’ve drifted too far from what’s important.

That’s why I created Compete to Live—a system designed to help people optimize their health and align their lives with what truly matters, using the most powerful tool we all have: mortality reflection.

The Problem: A Broken Approach to Health

Relying solely on the healthcare system to guide your health is a losing game. Here’s why:

  • Doctors are overburdened. They have too many patients and too little time to focus on the granular details of your well-being.

  • Prevention is short-term. The system defines “prevention” as avoiding death and disease in the next five years—not optimizing your life for the next 30.

  • Metrics focus on "acceptable," not "optimal." Healthcare providers work within a framework that rewards volume, not individualized, long-term health.

  • Patient advocacy is rare. Many people feel uncomfortable questioning their doctors or asking for specific tests, even though they should have the right to do so.

You wouldn’t hire a contractor to renovate your house and have no say in the process. So why take a passive role in your own health?

The Solution: Compete to Live

Compete to Live bridges the gap between what the healthcare system offers and what you need to truly thrive.

We focus on optimal living, not just acceptable health. More importantly, we use mortality reflection to bring urgency and clarity to your priorities. Because health isn’t just about living longer—it’s about making sure your life is filled with meaning, connection, and the ability to do what you love.

Why Mortality Reflection Works

I’ve spent over a decade working in healthcare—physical therapy, cardiac rehab, and the medical device industry. Time and again, I’ve seen one thing spark real, lasting change in patients: a brush with death.

People who experience a heart attack or life-threatening event often emerge with a newfound clarity. They become highly motivated to improve their health and their lives—not out of fear, but because they’ve glimpsed how short and precious life really is.

But you don’t have to wait for a near-death experience to gain this perspective. Mortality reflection allows you to cultivate it now—helping you live with more presence, purpose, and urgency every day.

How We Help You Compete to Live

  • We guide you through mortality reflection. This helps you set priorities that align with what truly matters—not just what you think you should be doing.

  • We help you stay present. Recognizing life’s impermanence makes everyday moments more meaningful.

  • We redefine health as a tool for life. Your health should allow you to be fully present today and set you up for a future where you can still do what you love.

  • We empower you to take control of your health. We give you the tools and confidence to advocate for yourself in the healthcare system.

Why This Matters for You

  • If you want to be present with your kids today and be healthy enough to play with them when they’re older, you need a long-term strategy.

  • If you want to pursue your passions without being held back by preventable health issues, you need to make intentional choices now.

  • If you want to wake up every day feeling aligned with your purpose instead of drifting through life, you need a framework that brings clarity to what really matters.

This is what Compete to Live is all about.

Are You Ready to Take Control?

I created Compete to Live because I’ve seen the limitations of the healthcare system firsthand, and I know we can do better. I’ve also seen the undeniable power of mortality reflection in transforming lives—including my own.

When you embrace the reality that your time is finite, you stop taking it for granted. You start making decisions that align with the life you actually want to live. You show up more fully for the people you love. And you take ownership of your health—not just for today, but for the future.

You start to truly Compete to Live.

If this resonates with you, I invite you to explore more. Join a workshop, connect with our community, and take the first step toward living your best, most intentional life—starting now.
